This is Jenna's "Sweet Victory Pie". Also known as "The Waitress Musical Curtain Pie". The Waitress drop curtain, designed by Scott Pask, was inspired by a Salted Caramel Apple Pie by Scott's brother. His pie was gorgeous and bubbly and gooey.
This is what we know about Sweet Victory Pie: fresh cherries, plenty of sugar, pour into a truly flaky crust, lattice on top. So. I've created a simple, victorious cherry pie, so beautiful and so deliciously baked. This pie is ready for a Broadway stage...
Gather your ripe sweet cherries, and get out your cherry pitter (or you can cut each cherry in half and take out the pit with your fingers).
One down, 100 more to go...
....almost there... hand cramping!
Mix in sugar.....
Dot with butter....
Over top the flour......
Dot with butter....
Over top the flour......
Cut your lattice strips...
...lay atop your pie, overlapping each other.
Sprinkle with plenty of sugar!
Bake to perfection!
MMMMMMMM..... Sweet victory indeed.....
