Couch Potato Pie

Couch Potato Pie. O how I love thee. This pie is a Sunday morning pie. It's a Netflix binge and wearing pajamas all day, not getting up from the couch ever kinda pie. Well you have to get up once. To make this pie. But then it's back to Netflix and season 4 of OITNB.

This is a pie featured on Joe's Pie Diner's Menu Board. It is perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, midnight snack... you name it. Wonder if Jenna was thinking of Earl when inventing this pie? Earl seems to inspire many of Jenna's savory pies. Regardless, this pie is mouth watering. I would imagine this one is veryyy popular among the regulars at Joe's.

Wash and peel 4 medium Russet potatoes...

...then slice into 1/8-1/4 inch thick disks.

Grate some GOOD cheddar cheese.

Crack your eggs...

...whisk in milk, salt, and pepper.

Prepare your truly flaky crust (no blind baking on this one).

You see that ham in the background? Oh yeah, cube some!

First layer: grated cheese and smoked ham pieces.

Second layer: potato slices.

Layer more cheese and ham, then one more layer of potatoes. This needs to have a generous amount of potatoes. Otherwise it would be called Ham, Cheese, and Egg Couch Pie, right?

Pour egg mixture into your layers of ham, cheese, and potatoes.

Let sit for 15 mins before cutting into this beautiful thing. Once you do, you'll see. It's majestic. Okay, back to OITNB.

My birthday is coming up in ten days and I am so pressured to prepare for a birthday party. It is going to be my sixteenth party, so you can just imagine just how pressured I am to make everybody happy in my party. This would make a great addition to the food I will be preparing! My friends and I love potatoes so much. We are currently trying to lose some weight now, so this recipe is perfect because it is low in calories and fat.

The phrase couch potato means a fairly negative thing. Basically, a couch potato is someone that literally spends most of his time sitting on a couch and watching tv all day. My day is someone that you can call a couch potato. It actually pisses me off sometimes, however, it is not something that I can condemn. Everyone is free to choose how they want to spend their time, and if being a couch potato is something that would make you happy, then do it.

This looks really delicious! I have seen apple, mango, coconut, tuna, and egg pies, but this is actually my first time to see a couch potato pie. I am fond of exploring new things especially when it comes to food. Thankfully, because of this post, I can also do this at home. Maybe I can make a bigger serving, because I am actually planning to bake this for my family and friends. I think this is perfect for a cold weather, movie night, and family day.
